WE Communications Boosts UK Leadership Team
LONDON – 25 February 2020 – WE Communications (WE) today announced the appointment of Patrick Tooher as director responsible for expanding the agency’s corporate communications offering. This newly created role further positions WE to service clients across all sectors and drive growth as part of our rapidly expanding corporate PR activity.
Tooher brings more than 15 years’ experience in managing corporate reputation and crisis communications for some of the UK’s biggest brands. Most recently, he was a director at Citypress and before that held senior in-house comms roles at both the Co-op and KPMG. Before entering public relations, Tooher was a senior financial journalist at several national newspapers, latterly as business editor at the Mail on Sunday.
“We’re thrilled to have Patrick join the leadership team in London,” says Catherine Devaney, WE’s deputy managing director. “His deep knowledge and experience of the corporate landscape and financial markets will be crucial to helping our clients meet their communications objectives, offering services from corporate positioning and storytelling to reputation and issues management and wider stakeholder engagement.”
Tooher will be responsible for servicing existing client remits such as Capgemini and HSBC, as well as building new business opportunities. He will also be tasked with broadening WE’s comms offering in both the UK and EMEA.
“I’m delighted to be joining WE,” said Tooher. “While best-known as an award-winning leader in tech, and healthcare globally, WE also has ambitious plans to grow its corporate practice in the UK as clients across all sectors increasingly seek an integrated and strategic approach to their communications needs from trusted advisors. I’m very much looking forward to being part of that team.”
Tooher will report to WE’s Managing Director, UK, Ruth Allchurch. Other members of the UK leadership team include Senior Director Laura Gillen and Directors Annabel Kerr, Cecilia Dominici, Gillian Daines and Louise Waller.
Over the past year, WE has achieved 15% growth in the UK, through wins such as HSBC and Bittrex Global.
